PROJECT DESCRIPTION
This research aims to evaluate the resilience of Primary Health Care (PHC) facilities and services in the Western Cape, South Africa, in the face of climate change. The study will identify the most vulnerable communities, design a tool to measure climate resilience in PHC, and then assess the resilience of PHC in those communities. The research will employ a multistage mixed methods approach, combining quantitative mapping with qualitative exploration and quantitative measurement. This research is driven by concerns that climate change poses a significant threat to public health, particularly in Africa, and seeks to understand how PHC can better address the challenges posed by this crisis.
